This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your advanced analytical skills and embrace cutting-edge AI tools to transform essential reporting and optimize complex workflows, making a significant, tangible impact on efficiency and accuracy within a dynamic reinsurance environment.

Responsibilities That Drive Impact

  • Lead the preparation of monthly stop-loss captive reporting, encompassing internal accruals and external submissions, by expertly managing source files and applying treaty rules during the first half of each month.
  • Generate comprehensive submission reporting aligned with treaty years post-financial close, rigorously adhering to established checklists and treaty obligations.
  • Undertake critical evaluations and spearhead the streamlining of highly manual Excess Reinsurance workflows, contributing directly to process redesign and strategic task offloading to offshore teams.
  • Modernize and refine extensive operational documentation (80+ pages) to significantly enhance clarity, usability, and overall accuracy.
  • Champion the use of AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and advanced analytics to brainstorm, prototype, test, and implement innovative automated workflow enhancements.
  • Actively support essential data migration initiatives from existing databases into Dataiku.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with various internal stakeholders and external reinsurers and captive managers to ensure seamless operations and alignment.

Must-Have Qualifications to Excel

  • 5-8 years of experience in finance, actuarial, accounting, or operations within the insurance industry, with specific expertise in Reinsurance Operations/Administration.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex formulas, utilize VBA, manage large datasets, develop multi-tab workbooks, perform data analysis, and independently troubleshoot issues.
  • Solid understanding of reinsurance concepts and group ceding structures (e.g., coinsurance, YRT), coupled with the ability to accurately interpret treaty language and financial calculations.
  • Hands-on experience or a high comfort level in leveraging AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude) for prompt building, task automation, and workflow redesign.
  • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills, paired with an inquisitive mindset and the confidence to ask pertinent questions and offer constructive process feedback.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in a hybrid work environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or Mathematics.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications That Set You Apart

  • Background in Medical Stop-Loss, Employee Benefits Group products (Life, Disability, Health), or supplemental health.
  • Familiarity with Dataiku, SQL, Python, or R.
  • An actuarial student background or a strong actuarial-style analytical mindset.
