Institutional Effectiveness supports planning and reporting through business intelligence and institutional research. Work in the unit includes data analysis, reporting, and support for assessment activities.

Job Description

This position will be deidcated to providing the Vice Chancellor of Finance with direct analytic support. Its primary purpose is to develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, automate manual reporting processes, and identify opportunities for process improvement across budget, accounting, and financial operations, freeing finance staff to focus on higher-value analysis and decision-making rather than manual data compilation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for budget, accounting, and finance operations
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support budget, accounting, and executive decision-making
  • Automate manual and recurring finance/budget reporting processes using Power Automate and related tools
  • Develop PowerApp tools to improve data collection and efficiency
  • Consult with the Vice Chancellor of Finance and finance leadership to translate business questions into analytic solutions
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance and operations workflows
  • Coordinate with other members of the BI team or Data Engineering team to develop solutions
  • Collaborate with Finance & Operations leaders and department heads to understand their BI needs and priorities
  • Translate requirements into BI solutions that address specific business challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders and end users on data products developed for Finance & Operations
  • Communicate regularly to division and campus stakeholders on new tools and products and upcoming changes and releases
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Four years of data analytics or process improvement experience
  • Prior experience in higher education
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $70,152-$104,104 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
