Dr. Thomas Kehl-Fie is seeking to fill a NIH-funded postdoctoral researcher position to define the mechanisms by which bacteria overcome nutrient starvation and the mechanisms by which the host restricts nutrients from invading microbes. Using Staphylococcus aureusand other pathogens, Dr. Kehl-Fie's laboratory studies the mechanisms by which pathogens overcome nutritional immunity, compete for essential nutrients and the host factors that impose nutrient starvation.
