DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the overall cleanliness and safety of state facilities through daily and specialized cleaning tasks. It plays an important role in keeping work areas safe, orderly, and ready for use. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Floor Care: Perform routine and non routine cleaning such as washing, buffing, sealing, refinishing, stripping, and extracting floors
- Equipment Use: Operate and maintain commercial cleaning machines and perform minor repairs when needed
- Restroom Cleaning: Wash and sanitize restroom fixtures, surfaces, and floors while restocking supplies
- Safety Checks: Report building issues, secure unoccupied offices, and ensure equipment and areas are safely maintained
- Outdoor Upkeep: Remove snow, ice, and debris from entrances and walkways and empty exterior containers

Full-time employment Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE - REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
