Position Summary



The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for the design, governance, development, and lifecycle management of the firm's enterprise integration ecosystem, ensuring business applications, platforms, and data services are connected through scalable, secure, and supportable integration solutions. This role establishes the long-term integration strategy, evaluates and recommends integration technologies and platforms, defines architectural standards, and provides hands-on leadership for the implementation of complex integration solutions. Working closely with Enterprise Architecture, application portfolio leads, data teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, the Integration Architect ensures integration capabilities enable business objectives while maintaining scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.



Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities



Enterprise Integration Architecture & Strategy




  • Own integration roadmap, operating model, governance, standards, reference architectures, and technology direction.
  • Evaluate and recommend integration platforms, middleware technologies, API management solutions, and supporting tools.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts, technical evaluations, and vendor assessments to support technology selection decisions.
  • Define integration standards, reference architectures, governance practices, and approved design patterns.
  • Establish the enterprise integration operating model and ensure solutions align with long-term business and technology strategies.



Integration Solution Design & Development





  • Lead architecture reviews, approve designs, establish development standards, perform mentorship, and provide technical leadership for strategic initiatives.
  • Design and develop complex integrations across SaaS applications, business systems, data platforms, and emerging technology solutions.
  • Provide hands-on development for high-complexity integration initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and strategic technical projects.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and supportability.
  • Mentor technical resources and support knowledge transfer across the organization.



Integration Platform Operations & Reliability





  • Ensure operational stability and reliability of enterprise integration services.
  • Monitor integration performance, failures, system dependencies, and capacity considerations.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for critical integration issues.
  • Establish operational support processes, diagnostics, monitoring standards, and recovery procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that improve resiliency and reduce support burden.



Application & Data Connectivity Strategy





  • Partner with application owners, business stakeholders, data teams, and vendors to define integration requirements and solution approaches.
  • Develop reusable integration capabilities that reduce point-to-point complexity and technical debt.
  • Guide API, event-driven, data exchange, and middleware strategies across the enterprise.
  • Ensure integration solutions support enterprise data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through better system connectivity and automation.



Portfolio Planning & Continuous Improvement





  • Maintain and prioritize the integration architecture and enhancement backlog.
  • Evaluate emerging integration technologies, platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Support project planning and estimate effort, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
  • Provide visibility into integration priorities, risks, capacity constraints, and roadmap recommendations.
  • Drive modernization initiatives that improve scalability, maintainability, and organizational agility.

Required Education, Experience, Licenses & Technical Competencies




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integrations required.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integrations using modern iPaaS and related integration technologies required.
  • Experience leading enterprise integration platform selection, implementation, and governance required.
  • Experience leading platform selection initiatives, including requirements definition, architecture assessments, vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and implementation planning required.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and cloud-based platform solutions required.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions utilizing cloud platform and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) capabilities, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud ecosystems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of integration architecture patterns including API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, message-based integrations, ETL/ELT processes, system orchestration, microservices, and enterprise application connectivity required.
  • Experience integrating enterprise business systems including ERP, CRM, HCM, project management, document management, engineering applications, data platforms, and cloud-based SaaS solutions required.
  • Experience with cloud-native integration services, API governance, identity and access management, and enterprise security principles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, data management, system design, technology governance, and solution lifecycle management principles required.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and technology domains required.
  • Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions required.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
  • Travel required <10% of the time.
