POSITION OVERVIEW:
Supervise and coordinate activities of a team of facility maintenance technicians engaged in maintaining and repairing the building systems and grounds at the general office campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Select, mentor, develop and motivate a team of employees
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such, discharges, and disciplinary actions
  • Prepare work schedules and assign repair and maintenance duties
  • Oversee and supervise employees and/or vendors engaged in performing maintenance tasks including but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire system and elevator inspection, and other maintenance essential functions
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensure all facility maintenance employees have appropriate tools, supplies and skills to effectively carry out their duties
  • Monitor equipment use and maintenance to ensure all equipment is safe, clean and in proper working condition
  • Prepare and maintain accurate time records and performance evaluations for all Facility Maintenance employees
  • Ensure inspections for facility equipment, including but not limited to, elevators, sprinklers and fire alarm systems, are completed in a timely manner per company and/or regulatory standards
  • Perform repair and maintenance tasks as needed to supplement staff
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience plus two (2) years' experience in building maintenance
  • Experience with/knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing, carpentry, useful but not required
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), state and local building and fire codes and hazardous materials regulations
  • Ability to operate power tools used in performing repair/maintenance activities, such as drills, saws, edger, etc.
  • Ability to operate riding lawn mower and pickup truck equipped with snow removal blade
  • Good time management, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must possess good independent decision making skill
  • Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, climb ladders and work overhead
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to work flexible hours/shifts as needed

Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions

Exposure to dust, noise and chemicals, e.g. paint fumes, gas fumes
