This position is responsible for coordinating, investigating, and assembling information for BES (Bulk Electric System) transmission projects in advance of commissioning and initial energization. The role is FERT Coordinator and is the lead role for the region's Facility Energization Ratings Team (FERT). The FERT will coordinate the activities associated with installed component verifications following construction involving BES components. The FERT organization also provides the Facility Ratings Coordinator (FRC) routine meetings and contact points to help address installation, component, or ratings questions related to Facility Ratings. The FERT activities are performed for all projects involving BES components, no matter whether the design, procurement or construction is performed by Duke Energy personnel or by a third party vendor company. The FERT activities include not only energizations at the end of a project or the end of project phases, but each separate energization of BES components that are part of a project. This position will reside within DEO Substation Engineering or DEI Substation Services team, pending successful candidate geographical location. Responsibilities * Lead bi-weekly Midwest FERT meetings and participate in enterprise bi-weekly FERT coordinator touch base meetings. * Support successful project completion in conjunction with the project teams by developing schedules, monitoring work, coordinating resources, and resolving procedural problems associated with energizing BES assets. * Provide the leadership to accomplish successful documentation and verification of FAC-008 component inventories prior to commissioning and energization. * Interface with multiple organizations, including Transmission Engineering (Transmission Line Engineering, Substation Engineering, Protection & Controls Engineering), Asset Management, System Operations, Transmission Planning, Work Management and Project Management. * Document lessons learned from each PGO regional FERT coordinators and projects involving the energization of BES assets to drive meaningful, direct improvements to the emerging NERC O&P Transmission Level Procedures and Facility Energization Process. * Adhere to the Transmission Level Procedure (TLP) to ensure FAC-008 compliance * Review, take, and release outage holds within Duke Energy TOA Outage Tracking tool Required/Basic Qualifications * Associates degree in Project Management, Business, Information Technology, or Engineering Technology * 7 years related work experience * In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 7 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience Desired Qualifications
