Designer II's will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Designer II's will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered.

Location: Staunton, VA - On-site

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create engineering documentation, including Solidworks, modeling, fabrication, and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
  • Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
  • Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
  • Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills
  • Complete work assignments within determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals
  • Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin Products
  • Be part of and function in a team environment including cross functional and inter-departmental teams
  • Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic

Your Qualifications:

  • Vocational or Technical Degree in Design/Drafting or Equivalent Experience or Associates Degree in Design/Drafting
  • 2+ years of experience of related design work
  • Understanding of AMSE Y14.5 Desing and drafting standards Advance Understanding
  • Sheet metal design and/or HVAC products
  • Strong Communication skills - Written and verbal
  • Experience with Excel - moderate to high level (preferred)
  • Solidworks Mechanical Basic Understanding
  • Draft Sight Basic Understanding
  • Flexible to travel 10 to 15%
  • Solidworks electrical (Optional Skill)

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.61 - $47.04 USD per hour in VA. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
