Salary: $50.31-55.90 Hourly
Skill is partnering with a major Healthcare company to find a Senior Reinsurance Analyst for a 9-month, temporary opportunity. This senior-level role offers a dynamic blend of high-profile monthly captive reinsurance reporting and high-impact process optimization, giving you the opportunity to leverage advanced Excel expertise and cutting-edge AI tools to transform operations. To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
- Be able to work on a W-2 basis (C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly stop-loss captive reporting (internal accruals and external submissions), managing source files and applying treaty rules during the first half of each month.
- Produce submission reporting by treaty year following financial close while maintaining strict compliance with established checklists and treaty obligations.
- Evaluate and streamline highly manual Excess Reinsurance workflows during the second half of the month, assisting in process redesign and offloading tasks to offshore teams.
- Review, clear up, and modernize 80+ pages of operational documentation to improve clarity, usability, and accuracy.
- Utilize AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and advanced analytics to brainstorm, prototype, test, and implement automated workflow enhancements.
- Support data migration efforts from legacy Access databases into Dataiku.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Reinsurance Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, EBG, and Stop-Loss teams, as well as external reinsurers and captive managers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in finance, actuarial, accounting, or operations within the insurance industry, specifically with Reinsurance Operations/Administration experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, VBA, large datasets, multi-tab workbooks, data analysis, and independent troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts and group ceding structures (e.g., coinsurance, YRT), with the ability to interpret treaty language and financial calculations.
- Hands-on experience or high comfort level leveraging AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude) to build prompts, automate tasks, and redesign workflows.
- Strong written communication and analytical skills, with an inquisitive mindset and the confidence to ask questions and offer process feedback.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a hybrid work setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science, or Mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Medical Stop-Loss, Employee Benefits Group products (Life, Disability, Health), or supplemental health.
- Familiarity with Dataiku, SQL, Python, or R.
- Actuarial student background or an actuarial-style analytical mindset.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50.31 - $55.90/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
