Overview

This position coordinates cross-functional teams to collect operational, financial, market, staffing, and revenue assumptions and translates this information into comprehensive business cases and pro formas for leadership review and decision-making.

The role requires strong project management, financial analysis, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Operations, Clinical, Business Development, Admissions, Human Resources, and other departments. This position is 5-8 hours a week.

Salary - $18/hr. Also open to a non paid internship with college credits.



Responsibilities

    Support the end-to-end development of business proformas for new programs, service expansions, acquisitions, capital projects, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support the establishment of project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and responsibilities for each pro forma.
  • Ensure timely completion of all required analyses and supporting documentation.
  • Incorporate market data, competitive information, organizational capacity, regulatory considerations, and operational requirements into pro forma development.
  • Coordinate the development of financial assumptions, including:
    • Census and volume projections
    • Revenue and reimbursement assumptions
    • Staffing models and personnel costs
    • Facility and occupancy costs
    • Start-up and capital expenses
    • Operating expenses
    • Margin and profitability projections
  • Partner with Finance to validate assumptions and ensure financial models accurately reflect operational plans.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities, risks, and potential gaps.
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess the impact of changes in census, reimbursement, staffing, expenses, and other key assumptions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research for assigned projections.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Clinical, Human Resources, Facilities, IT, Admissions, Business Development, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-level summaries and presentations outlining financial results, key assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Support leadership decision-making by clearly communicating the financial and operational implications of proposed initiatives.


Qualifications

Required

  • Enrolled in a Bachelors degree with concentration in Business or Marketing
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to understand and evaluate business assumptions and financial models.
  • Proficiency with Excel or comparable financial modeling tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What you will learn

  • Experience in healthcare, human services, behavioral health, education, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience developing financial pro formas, business cases, feasibility studies, or capital investment analyses.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, program development, or organizational expansion.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms and business intelligence/data visualization tools.
  • Management of multiple projects
