POSITION OVERVIEW

The Benefits Manager supports the benefits administration, Benefit Resource Center, communications and project oversight of all employee benefit plans. Leads by example providing excellence in customer service to the employees and leaders of the organization.

  • Leads day-to-day benefits administration and service delivery activities and establishes standards, procedures, and service expectations that support accurate, efficient, and scalable benefits administration.
  • Supervises Benefits Coordinators, Benefits Resource Representatives, and other assigned team members, providing direction and support to promote effective service delivery.
  • Oversees administration of the Company's health and welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit programs and employee transactions.
  • Oversees the Benefits ServiceNow queue, including intake management, work assignment, prioritization, workload balancing, ticket aging, response times, service-level agreements, and overall service performance.
  • Reviews escalated and complex employee benefit issues, provides guidance regarding plan administration, and supports effective resolution of benefit and vendor-related concerns.
  • Manages relationships with benefits vendors, carriers, consultants, brokers, and third-party administrators, including vendor performance reviews, service-level monitoring, issue escalation and resolution, implementations, transitions, and renewals.
  • Partners with Employee Experience Managers to maintain a seamless employee support model and establishes escalation processes to ensure complex benefit, leave, and vendor-related issues are appropriately routed and resolved.
  • Analyzes employee inquiry trends, service metrics, and recurring issues and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the employee experience.
  • Promotes a culture of employee advocacy and service excellence and ensures consistent and effective communication, education, and support regarding benefit programs.
  • Provides guidance, training, and ongoing support to Employee Experience Managers regarding benefit administration processes, resources, and escalation protocols.
  • Oversees retirement plan administration and reviews audits, testing results, compliance filings, operational reporting, and identified concerns to support accurate and compliant plan administration.
  • Partners with Benefits team members, retirement plan recordkeepers, auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders to address retirement plan administration issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Supports compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, the SECURE Act, and other applicable regulations and monitors operational controls to identify and address potential compliance risks.
  • Ensures required benefits documentation, notices, audits, and reporting requirements are completed and partners with Legal, Human Resources, Payroll, external advisors, and other stakeholders on benefits compliance matters.
  • Leads annual Open Enrollment activities, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to support accurate and effective execution.
  • Partners with the VP, Benefits & Leave on benefits strategy, program enhancements, vendor evaluations, benefits budgeting, renewal planning, operational planning, and special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: Yes: Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5-8 years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

  • CBP, CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
