POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Summary
The Benefits Analyst supports the administration, financial oversight, compliance, and data integrity of the Company's health and welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs. This role ensures accurate benefit plan administration through audits, vendor invoice and payroll deduction reconciliations, reporting, retirement plan support, and vendor performance monitoring. The Benefits Analyst partners with Payroll, Human Resources, Leave Administration, Finance, benefits vendors, and other team members to promote accurate and efficient program administration. This role also researches and resolves complex benefits issues while supporting compliance with applicable regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs administration of the Company's health and welfare benefit programs and monitors processes to ensure accurate and compliant plan administration.
  • Oversees benefits administration system functionality, carrier integrations, eligibility files, and data exchanges to ensure benefits transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Monitors data integrity across HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, retirement, and vendor systems and researches and resolves identified discrepancies.
  • Reviews, reconciles, and approves benefit-related vendor invoices and resolves discrepancies in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Reconciles payroll deductions against carrier billing and enrollment data and partners with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate benefit funding.
  • Administers the Company's retirement programs, including eligibility monitoring, payroll contribution transmissions, contribution funding reconciliations, and payroll file validation.
  • Coordinates testing, validation, and implementation of benefit system enhancements, vendor changes, new benefit programs, Open Enrollment updates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, key performance indicators, and operational metrics related to enrollment, eligibility, plan participation, payroll deductions, leave impacts, vendor performance, compliance, and leadership decision-making.
  • Analyzes benefits data, ServiceNow case trends, recurring employee concerns, enrollment errors, and operational metrics to identify root causes, discrepancies, vendor concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partners with Payroll, Finance, retirement plan recordkeepers, vendors, and external auditors to investigate discrepancies and support accurate and compliant retirement plan administration.
  • Monitors vendor performance and service levels and supports vendor implementations and transitions.
  • Partners with Benefits Coordinators and other cross-functional stakeholders to research and resolve complex employee benefits issues, data integrity concerns, carrier integration issues, and vendor file discrepancies.
  • Coordinates retirement plan audit support, documentation collection and validation, Form 5500 data preparation, nondiscrimination testing, and other compliance and governance activities.
  • Conducts periodic eligibility and enrollment audits and supports preparation and documentation for internal and external benefits audits.
  • Supports compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, the SECURE Act, and other applicable regulations by maintaining required documentation and monitoring processes for potential compliance risks.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes and service delivery, recommends data-driven solutions, participates in optimization initiatives, and escalates systemic issues and operational risks to Benefits leadership.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor Degree
Experience: 3-5 years

Licenses and Certifications

CBP, CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certifications preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
