About This Role

The Herbel Family School of Accountancy invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date in August of 2027.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; maintain a productive research agenda targeted toward top-tier accounting journals; provide professional service to the Department, College, and University; and engage in ongoing career development. Candidates from all teaching and research specializations are encouraged to apply.

The average teaching load for this position is 2/2; this is equivalent to 4 courses per year (or 2 courses per semester). The ideal candidate will also bring relevant business or professional experience in the accounting industry.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in accounting or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited Business institution.
  • Demonstrated strong potential to conduct high-quality research and publish in leading journals within the accounting discipline.
  • Demonstrated strong potential for high-quality teaching.
  • Ability to contribute to the service mission of the department and college.


The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong research record, demonstrated through publications in leading academic journals and presentations at national and international academic conferences.
  • Prior university-level teaching experience in accounting, with a commitment to student learning and engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant professional work experience that complements academic expertise and enhances teaching and research contributions.
