| Position Highlights |
The College of Engineering is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Research Technician I in the lab of Dr. Shang Song in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The Song lab (songlab.arizona.edu) is fully funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), private foundation (American Heart Association), and other organizations. The laboratory specializes in neuroengineering, organs-on-chips technology, and animal models. The Research Technician hired into this role will work closely with post-doctoral fellows and graduate students on various exciting translational research projects. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Assist with basic laboratory tasks including preparing samples and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Assists higher level researchers with collecting samples.
- Prepare reagents and solutions as needed for experiments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ethical guidelines in the handling and disposal of laboratory materials.
- Support routine experiments under supervision, ensuring compliance with standardized procedures.
- Maintain logs and records of experimental data. Assists in field research by completing basic field notes and records.
- Contact and coordinate scheduling of study subject. May also collect basic information.
- Provide routine administrative support (photocopies, labeling, filing, record keeping, etc.).
- Engage in the continuous learning and application of basic lab techniques and safety protocols.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Basic knowledge of laboratory research.
- Ability to take guidance and work as part of a team.
- Ability to report results to the PI and in laboratory meetings.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or above in biomedical related disciplines preferred.
- At least 1 year laboratory research or animal experience in related field.
- Experience in Prism and MS Excel preferred.
