LAB ASSISTANT We are seeking a Lab Assistant - Clinical Labs to:
- Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing).
- Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.
- Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program and clinical rotation
Work Experience
- Six months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience (Required)
- One year of experience in phlebotomy and processing (Preferred)

- Perform troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments as a scientist.
- Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology Required or education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either:
- 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or
- 24 semester hours of science courses Required
Work Experience
- 1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications

- Be a supportive partner with Registered Nurses on General Care, Intermediate Care, ICU/Critical Care, and Pediatrics units.
- Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. NAs will assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding.
- Interact and engage with visitors, patients, and their family members to establish a trusting relationship to provide high quality care.

- Perform a wide variety of imaging exams and specialized procedures on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups using a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, detectors, and plate readers.
- Troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.
- Set up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolation precautions when needed.
- Work collaboratively with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and to triage routine and emergent procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology Required
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Preferred
