General Job Description Position Overview IES Residential is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our team. The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of electrical project execution from initiation through completion while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, applicable electrical codes, and project requirements. This role coordinates closely with internal departments, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and electrical field personnel to support operational efficiency, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and successful project outcomes. Primary Responsibilities Manage all aspects of assigned electrical projects from project kickoff through final completion, including coordination of electrical field operations and project requirements. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, timelines, manpower requirements, material needs, and resource plans to support successful electrical project execution. Coordinate with operations, estimating, purchasing, accounting, and electrical field teams to ensure project success, proper resource allocation, and operational efficiency. Review electrical plans, drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and related documentation to ensure project requirements are understood and properly executed. Monitor electrical project progress, field productivity, labor and material costs, quality, and overall performance to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. Communicate regularly with customers, vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal stakeholders regarding electrical project status, schedules, requirements, and expectations. Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, purchase orders, schedules, electrical drawings, project records, and reports. Identify and resolve electrical project issues, field conflicts, delays, material concerns, scheduling challenges, and other project risks in a timely and professional manner. Ensure electrical work and project activities comply with company policies, safety standards, contractual obligations, applicable electrical codes, regulatory requirements, and established operational procedures. Conduct project and field coordination meetings and provide accurate updates regarding schedules, progress, field operations, and project performance to leadership and project stakeholders. Support billing, invoicing, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities related to assigned electrical projects. Foster positive working relationships with customers, electrical field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members while maintaining professional communication and effective conflict resolution. Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance electrical field operations, project efficiency, quality, productivity, and overall project performance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 6+ Specific Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, construction operations, project management principles, and scheduling processes. Excellent leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities with the ability to effectively coordinate electrical field operations and project activities. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including effective conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple electrical projects, priorities, manpower requirements, and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical field and project-related issues. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy, quality standards, and code compliance under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable project management, construction, or electrical systems and software. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal departments, leadership, electrical field personnel, customers, vendors, and subcontractors. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Ability to lead and coordinate electrical field teams and drive projects toward successful completion while maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and customer expectations. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Spanish speaking preferred. Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners. Education/Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of electrical field experience required. Previous electrical project management, field supervision, or electrical construction leadership experience preferred. Previous experience managing project budgets, schedules, electrical field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors preferred. High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant electrical industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements Travel as required to support electrical projects, field operations, and job site needs. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Work in both office and active job site environments, including sitting and performing prolonged computer work as well as standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, and reaching as necessary. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service, project, and operational needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies, procedures, project requirements, and safety standards. Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office or field technology. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support.
