Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Modeler

Sabre Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Modeler candidate to fill a full-time position for the Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA-299) within the H-60 Advanced Development (AD) Integrated Product Team (IPT) at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The H-60 AD IPT manages the inception, concept maturation, acquisition strategy execution, and fielding of the H-60 Service Life Modernization (SLM) upgrade (TALON architecture) and the follow-on Future Vertical Lift (FVL-Maritime Strike) program. The AD program operates within a highly collaborative, model-centric Digital Engineering Environment (DEE). Rather than utilizing traditional document-based acquisition, the government and contractors maintain a single authoritative source of truth: the Systems Engineering Model (SEM), which aggregates into a comprehensive Technical Baseline Framework (TBF). This MBSE Modeler will serve as a key working-level "Builder" within this ecosystem. The incumbent is responsible for translating engineering truths provided by domain experts into rigorous, standardized Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architectures, ensuring the program's digital baseline is consistent, accurate, and ready to support continuous hardware-in-the-loop and software verification. This is a 100% on-site position for classified work. Travel requirements are approximately 10%.

The selected candidate's major duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Model Construction and Translation: Translate physical parameters, interface specifications, and tactical requirements provided by domain engineers into standardized SysML blocks, activity diagrams, state machines, and parametric constraints within the program's Systems Engineering Model (SEM).
• DCM & MBSE Standards Adherence: Execute modeling tasks in strict alignment with program modeling guidelines and package boundaries established by the Lead MBSE, utilizing the JIRA-driven Developmental Change Management (DCM) workflow to submit model changes via pull requests.
• Digital Thread Tool Integration: Coordinate with the Digital Environment Lead (DEL) and contractor counterparts to map model elements to external design and analysis applications (e.g., CATIA, PLM, and specialized simulation packages), establishing unbroken Digital Threads.
• Agile Sprint Execution: Participate actively as a core team member in segment-level Agile engineering sprints, coordinating daily with segment Lead Systems Engineers (LSEs) and contractor peers to complete modeled tasks.
• Continuous VV&A Mapping: Support the program's Continuous Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) strategy by developing and mapping digital test cases in Cameo directly to system requirements.
• Automated Logistics Modeling: Collaborate with the Sustainment MBSE Lead to embed reliability, maintainability, and supportability math into SysML parametric diagrams, enabling live dashboards to auto-calculate key lifecycle metrics (MTBF, MMH).
• Model-Based Design Reviews: Utilize the DEE to prepare, walk through, and review modeling diagrams during working groups and digital design reviews, ensuring clarity and precision for government and contractor stakeholders.
• Digital Baseline Maintenance: Maintain the configuration integrity of the SEM by managing access, model merges, and conflict resolutions within Teamwork Cloud under the guidance of the Lead MBSE.

Requirements:

• Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree; ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
• Minimum of four (4) years recent and relevant Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering/Digital Engineering applications and technology.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (specifically Dassault Systemes Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw and Teamwork Cloud).
• A strong foundation in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) syntax and ontology design.
• Demonstrated experience or high aptitude for working within Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and associated task management software (JIRA, Confluence).
• A strong foundation in traditional engineering principles (electrical, mechanical, software, or aerospace) with a proven ability to translate physical engineering constraints into digital representations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving within multi-disciplinary teams.
• The developer will be working in a Linux environment following an agile development process in a cohesive team environment.
• Security Classification: Top-Secret/SCI eligible clearance is required.
