Research Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing critical biological assays and maintaining meticulous records to support our ongoing research initiatives. The key responsibilities include: Insect bioassay, protein analysis using electrophoresis and plate assays, and insect histology.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager.
  
  The degree requirement ensures candidates possess the advanced theoretical knowledge, highly specialized methodologies, and critical problem-solving skills fundamental to this work. These competencies are typically developed and rigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and intensive experiential experience inherent in a formal degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with conducting laboratory research with insect physiological study.
• BS in Biology or any Biological Discipline.
• Experience conducting experiments and working with living and dead insects, and other organisms as needed for the research.
• Ability to rear, count and sort living insects and related organisms as needed for the research.
• Experience in working with protein quantification.
• Statistical skill for data analysis.
