PRN - Day Shift

Starting Pay - $26.85 to $40.28 (based on experience)

Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience.

• Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology Program or obtained Limited scope operator certification
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and in good standing with continuing education (CE's)
• Prior experience preferred
• Requires good communication skills and ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making in problem identification and resolution
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competency in performing radiology exams within the scope of practice for Limited Radiology Operator Certification.
• Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy collection techniques and patient management, including venipuncture, capillary puncture, and (as applies) arterial puncture and therapeutic phlebotomy.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient preparation and specimen collection techniques for throat culture, urine, and other requested specimens.
• Demonstrates proficiency in waived level testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology (as applies).
• Demonstrates proficiency in documenting patient specimen flow in Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Processes specimens according to requirements, including preparation of specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed.
• Maintains a safe work environment and complies with standards for safe practice and standard precautions.
• Performs required quality control and proficiency testing, evaluates data, and implements corrective action as needed.
• Maintains competency in use of clinical information systems, including RIS, LIS, and EHR, as they apply to job.
• Manages sufficient supply inventory.
• Assists with policy and procedure review, development of new testing, and training of new employees, as assigned.
• Performs phlebotomy at skilled nursing facilities, as needed.
• As instructed by nursing lead:
• Escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Patient intake data collection (height and weight).
• Assists clinician with procedures.
• Prepares patient education materials and communicates patient instructions using preprinted materials.
• Cleaning rooms and equipment between patients.
• Other duties as assigned.
