About Us
At Global Center Meats, we take pride in delivering top-quality cuts, exceptional craft, and outstanding service to our community. We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Meat Butcher to join our team and help maintain our reputation for premium products and craft precision.
Key Responsibilities
Breakdown & Processing: Break down whole carcasses, primals, and subprimals into retail-ready cuts (beef, pork, lamb).
Craftsmanship: Trim, tie, grind, and prepare specialized cuts, sausages, and value-added meats to shop standards.
Display & Presentation: Manage and stock service cases, ensuring visual appeal, proper rotation, and clear labeling.
Customer Service: Provide expert advice on cooking methods, flavor profiles, and
custom cut requests to customers.
Sanitation & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and USDA standards. Keep work areas, equipment, and tools clean and operational.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
Minimum [2-3] years of professional meat-cutting or butchering experience in a retail, grocery, or processing environment.
Tool & Equipment Mastery: Proficient with band saws, meat grinders, tenderizers, vacuum sealers, and hand knives.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in refrigerated environments (35F-40F), and lift up to 50+ lbs regularly.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of meat cuts, muscle structure, and proper food handling procedures.
Certifications: Food Handler / Food Safety Certification required (or willing to obtain upon hire).
