Senior Business Analyst - AMI Operations

We are seeking a highly analytical and driven individual to play a pivotal role in optimizing operational efficiency and material readiness for a critical advanced metering initiative. In this position, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful deployment of advanced metering technology, directly influencing inventory planning, operational readiness, and the proactive management of critical infrastructure. Your expertise will translate complex data into actionable insights, shaping strategic decisions and driving continuous improvement across utility operations.

This role is central to the success of a strategic, multi-year advanced metering initiative, where you will leverage operational and installation data to support material forecasting, performance reporting, and business intelligence. You will analyze work order data, identify material consumption trends, and develop robust quarterly and annual forecasts to ensure optimal inventory planning and operational readiness. Beyond forecasting, you will contribute to broader operational effectiveness by analyzing field activities, identifying performance gaps, and standardizing reporting. As the program evolves, your work will extend to advanced analytics of real-time smart meter data, enabling proactive maintenance and issue resolution that directly impacts the reliability and safety of utility services.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze work order and installation data to identify materials consumed during meter deployment activities.
• Develop quarterly and annual material demand forecasts to support inventory planning and procurement.
• Create and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and performance metrics that measure material readiness and deployment risk.
• Establish reporting frameworks that classify inventory health and deployment readiness as "Good to Go," "At Risk," or other operational status indicators.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Program Management teams to align forecasted demand with deployment schedules.
• Collect, organize, and analyze operational data related to meter installations, repairs, maintenance, and field activities.
• Develop reporting and analytics that measure productivity, quality, deployment performance, and operational efficiency.
• Identify trends, bottlenecks, process gaps, and opportunities for workflow standardization and performance improvement.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership and business stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of data governance, reporting standards, and analytics best practices across the advanced metering initiative.
• Analyze smart meter telemetry and operational data to identify anomalies, performance concerns, and emerging operational risks.
• Evaluate data from pressure, temperature, leak detection, and other sensor sources to support proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
• Partner with technical and operational teams to determine whether detected issues are attributable to network communications, system integrations, or physical meter conditions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of advanced analytics capabilities that drive data-informed decision-making throughout the advanced metering lifecycle.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, operational analytics, forecasting, reporting, or related disciplines.
• Experience working with large datasets, work order management systems, and operational reporting environments.
• Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, SQL, Google BigQuery, Excel, and other data visualization and analytics tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Understanding of forecasting methodologies, KPI development, and process improvement principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a large-scale, multi-year transformation program.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience supporting utility operations, asset management, supply chain planning, or field service organizations.
