Assistant Merchandiser - Hardlines

We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic individual to step into a supportive role within our client's merchandising team. In this position, you will be instrumental in executing product strategies for various categories, ensuring that consumer-centric, trend-right, and high-quality assortments are brought to market. Your contributions will help translate beloved brand priorities and guest insights into exciting product lines that balance innovation, collectability, core offerings, and gifting. What you will do:

• Assist with the daily implementation of product strategy for various categories, working closely under the direction of a Manager.
• Help monitor the global competitive landscape and consumer trends, identifying and flagging potential opportunities for evaluation.
• Support the development of product briefs by gathering and organizing product needs from diverse regions and channels.
• Track development counts and key performance indicator (KPI) targets, compiling standard and ad-hoc reports for the team.
• Provide essential research and administrative support for open-market and licensed line buying, brand collaborations, product-focused events, and self-sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor product lifecycle milestones from initial concept through commercialization, proactively flagging any timeline risks for resolution.
• Collaborate across various systems, including Workfront, to ensure data integrity and consistent updates throughout product development.
• Maintain the upkeep and organization of the showroom, ensuring it remains a clean, presentable, and functional space.
• Participate in discussions with cross-functional partners to gain insights into line management and milestone processes.
• Act as a collaborative team player, contributing to a positive culture of appreciation and celebrating team achievements.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience in merchandising, specifically within Hardlines categories.
• General awareness of Hardlines manufacturing, regulatory, and quality-control considerations.
• Demonstrated detail-orientation and a developing ability to track execution against financial plans or other deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in managing sales decks using PowerPoint.

Education:

• Associate's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Some exposure to working with external partners.
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience.
• Experience in showroom management.
