General Information:

The IT department at James Madison University (JMU) is seeking applicants for a Business Analyst. This position provides quality functional and technical support to assist end users with their use of software applications and business systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Partner with the user community to analyze existing business processes and identify areas for process improvement.
- Partner with the user community to identify, analyze and communicate new business requirements.
- Develop, document and perform system, integration, and user acceptance tests.
- Provide support to customers.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
* Knowledge of business analysis techniques and practices
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle
* Knowledge of information systems/information technology trends
* Knowledge of customer service best practices
* Excellent organizational and planning skills
* Ability to apply and interpret user requirements, apply logical sequencing to improve or change business processes and rapidly learn computer software
* Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently
* Basic Windows/desktop application experience
* Interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills, to include ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals
* Ability to manage multiple priorities

Additional Considerations:
* Knowledge of software applications / ERP systems
* Demonstrated experience as a business analyst
* Basic knowledge of project management
