Summary

We are seeking a motivated intern with a background in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will support sensory research and product evaluation activities, assisting with test design, sample preparation, data collection, laboratory studies, and analysis of user perception data. This role provides hands-on experience in developing methods that connect laboratory measurements with customer experience and product performance.

Hollister Incorporated opperates in a hybrid environment, Interns are required to come into the office in Libertyville Illinois a minimum of 4 days per week. Hollister does not provide relocation nor housing assistance for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support research and development activities through laboratory testing, sample preparation, and data collection.
• Assist in the design, execution, and documentation of experiments following established procedures.
• Conduct product, material, and performance evaluations using laboratory and other assessment methods.
• Analyze and summarize experimental data, and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, study procedures, data analysis, and results.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot challenges and improve testing procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists to understand and correlate laboratory performance measurements with overall user experience and product functionality.
• Assist with laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in product development, research, testing, or evaluation.
• Hands-on laboratory, research, or project experience through coursework or academic research.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with statistical software is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

The anticipated hourly rate for thisposition is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour basedon applicant's education and skills.
