Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join Level 1 Trauma Center. Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave Emergency Medical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities: Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges. Applies orthopedic splinting devices. Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment. Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit). Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring. Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures. Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care. May perform additional duties as assigned. Shift: (6:45am-7:15pm) Schedule: Full Time, Three 12-hour shifts weekly Training: All candidates must be able to attend an initial 6-week training, Monday-Friday. Minimum qualifications: Experience: 1 year of EMT-B experience Education: High School Diploma or GED Certification: BLS and EMT-B; must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification Special Skills: Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
