Staff Research Associate 1 - Pediatrics (Limited)

The Shoucri Laboratory is recruiting a research associate
to perform mouse and tissue culture experiments in the field of adipose
biology. Candidates must have relevant experience in adipocyte cell culture
models, managing genetic mouse lines, and metabolic phenotyping of mice.

This is a limited position that may convert to
career.

Hourly Salary Range: $30.12 - $35.92

Required:

• Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment, supplies and
  basic molecular biology techniques
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with
  multiple individuals
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized working area
• Ability to keep accurate and organized lab records
• Knowledge of chemistry to prepare solutions for lab
  experiments, and laboratory safety procedures for handling chemical and
  biohazard waste
• Working knowledge and ability in the use of computers (PC
  and MAC operating systems)
• Skill in using various computer software. Specifically: R, R
  Studio, SPSS, MATLAB, ImageJ, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry and
  analysis. Required Ability to complete tasks in an orderly and timely fashion.
• Maintain appropriate time management skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to
  switch focus as needed. Required Skill in writing clear and concise
  correspondence
• Willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule,
  including occasional overtime to meet deadlines.
• Ability to effectively handle and restrain mice; knowledge
  of rodent anatomy. Required Knowledge of the adipose field, including relevant
  experimental techniques and literature.

Preferred:

• B.S. degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering,
  Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Knowledge of IRB protocols and applications and University
  procedures
