Postdoctoral Research Associate (I-V), Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry within the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is known for its focus on community-based mental health care and our multidisciplinary approach to the medical/psychiatry interface.

The department welcomes applicants to apply to the Postdoctoral Research Associate position. This position serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations for a planned sleep health research study, Mind After Midnight. The successful individual in this position will also participate in other research, student teaching, and administrative activities, as well as professional development activities in order to develop their researcher skill set. This position also regularly communicates with participants regarding sleep diaries and adverse events and will participate with the Principal Investigator (PIs) in the analysis of the study findings and writing manuscripts.

Duties
and Responsibilities:

Duties:

• Recruit, screen, and enroll participants.
• Perform assessments and interventions.
• Analyze and interpret data,
  write manuscripts.
• Help supervise and train
  undergraduate students or other lab members.
  

Responsibilities:

• Database management and data analysis, alongside the study Principal Investigators and the study Statistician.
• Routinely interacts with peers and direct management.
• Exchanges information with other departments or external contacts to perform role and achieve objectives.
• May coordinate own work with that of other work groups.

Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:

• Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
• Ability to transfer knowledge and application of complex principles, theories and concepts to peers.

• Doctoral degree with field of study Research/Psychology/Sciences.

• Prior experience writing manuscripts based on study findings.
• Prior experience in adverse event reporting and participant communication.
