Role Summary

The Enterprise Insurance team is seeking a Senior Analyst, Insurance Risk to support the analysis, administration, and continuous improvement of Rivian's enterprise insurance and risk management programs. As a senior individual contributor, you will own key workstreams across insurance renewals, claims analytics, regulatory requirements, broker performance, and stakeholder reporting. This role sits at the intersection of Treasury, process design, digital enablement, and financial analysis, with responsibility for turning complex exposure, claims, policy, and compliance information into clear recommendations and reliable operating processes. This individual contributor position should be able to work independentlywith supervision and be comfortable workinginafast pacedenvironmentinan agile manner.

  • Raise the standard of execution: Lead complex workstreams with brokers, carriers, claims vendors, and internal partners while anticipating issues and driving resolution.


Responsibilities

Enterprise Insurance Strategy & Program Management

  • Own and coordinate major workstreams supporting property, casualty, workers' compensation, management liability, cyber, and other enterprise insurance programs.

  • Lead preparation of policy renewal submissions, including the collection, validation, analysis, and presentation of exposure data from business segments and corporate functions.

  • Analyze corporate risk management, insurance, and financing data to support global programs, risk retention strategies, and recommendations for program improvements.

  • Partner with the Manager and key stakeholders to assess coverage needs, identify emerging risks, and prepare materials for internal and external decision-making.

  • Maintain a clear view of program milestones, dependencies, decisions, and risks across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Insurance Operations, Controls & Administration

  • Own operating processes for policy schedules, broker deliverables, invoices, certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, surety bonds, and related program documentation.

  • Establish and maintain controls that improve accuracy, timeliness and auditability of Certificates of Insurance from third parties.

  • Support onboarding and performance coordination for insurance brokers and other insurance-related vendors.

  • Identify service gaps, resolve operational issues, and improve the experience for internal partners who rely on enterprise insurance support.

Risk Data, Claims & Financial Analysis

  • Lead the coordination, validation, and analysis of claims data to support insurance programs, risk retention strategies, renewals, and management reporting.

  • Support the identification, evaluation, and subrogation process for recoveries under claims caused by third parties.

  • Build analyses, dashboards, and executive-ready materials that connect risk trends to business performance, operational decisions, and enterprise priorities.

  • Establish data quality standards and improve the consistency, traceability, and usability of information used by internal and external partners.

Process Design, Digital Enablement & Knowledge Management

  • Support improvements to insurance risk processes, procedures, playbooks, and operating documentation across the department.

  • Identify high-value opportunities to streamline manual work, improve data capture, strengthen workflow controls, and enable more consistent service delivery through practical digital solutions.

  • Develop and maintain internal insurance resources, including intranet content, knowledge articles, reporting templates, and stakeholder guidance.

Compliance, Governance & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Monitor regulatory, contractual, and insurer requirements and coordinate timely responses across internal teams and external partners.

  • Support governance routines by preparing status updates, risk summaries, decision materials, and recommendations for the Manager and business leaders.

  • Build trusted relationships with professional counterparts across Rivian and with brokers, insurers, claims vendors, and other external partners.

Project Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate broker and insurance partner deliverables, monitor progress, remove obstacles, and escalate issues before they affect business outcomes.

  • Apply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods to improve service quality, reduce rework, and strengthen team capacity.

  • Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative culture grounded in accountability, curiosity, sound judgment, and respect.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Five or more years of experience in enterprise risk management, insurance, brokerage, or a related discipline.

  • Strong working knowledge of property and casualty insurance and experience with one or more significant lines of coverage, including management liability, cyber insurance, workers' compensation, or commercial auto.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting insurance renewals, exposure data analysis, claims analytics, risk financing, policy administration, or related enterprise insurance activities.

  • Experience interpreting insurance program data, financial information, contractual risk transfer provisions, loss information, and regulatory or insurer requirements.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate cross-functional deliverables, and drive timely decisions and resolution.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite products; working knowledge of Claude, Gemini, or similar AI engines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong executive presence, storytelling, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving, and agile environment.

  • Commitment to building inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing working relationships across levels and functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance designation such as CPCU, ARM, or a related professional credential.

  • Experience supporting insurance programs in a high-growth technology, automotive, electric vehicle, manufacturing, or other complex global operating environment.

  • Experience implementing workflow automation, structured data management, knowledge management, reporting, or self-service capabilities.


Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is USD 98,500-123,100 for applicants in Illinois, Michigan, and Atlanta. This is the lowest-to-highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual performance bonus and equity awards.
