Team Lead, Software Development - 4

Infor
United States, Georgia, Atlanta
Sep 19, 2026
Infor is seeking a Team Lead to guide a team of engineers delivering our AI-driven data migration and data governance platform, with python as the primary development language. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management - you'll set technical direction, remove delivery blockers, and grow your team's capabilities, while staying close enough to the code to make sound architectural calls and unblock hard problems. You'll partner with product managers, architects, and other team leads to translate business priorities into a healthy, well-executed engineering roadmap, including driving adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development practices across the team.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
  • Set and enforce technical direction for the team's services, built primarily in Python, ensuring alignment with overall platform architecture.
  • Lead architecture discussions and design reviews for services deployed via Docker/Kubernetes on AWS.
  • Guide data modeling decisions across relational and document stores (PostgreSQL, DocumentDB), balancing team velocity with governance and data quality requirements.
  • Drive team-wide adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development tooling, establishing practices for how the team incorporates AI coding assistants and agentic workflows (agent orchestration, tool-use pipelines) into daily development - an area where Python is the dominant ecosystem.
  • Own delivery timelines and quality for the team's roadmap items, escalating risks early to product and engineering leadership.
  • Partner with product managers to scope work, estimate effort, and sequence priorities.
  • Coordinate with adjacent teams (architecture, DevOps, Java-based platform teams) to manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Maintain enough hands-on involvement in the codebase (Python, data pipelines, agent frameworks) to review critical designs and unblock hard technical problems.
  • Champion a polyglot approach, ensuring the team can flex into Java/Spring or other languages where existing platform services require it, even though Python is the team's primary language.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Hands-on background in Python, including experience building production services, data pipelines, or AI/agent-based tooling.
  • Prior experience leading or informally mentoring a team of engineers - technical lead, team lead, or equivalent.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments. Direct experience building or integrating AI-assisted or agentic development tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Kiro , custom agent orchestration frameworks).
  • Experience with relational and document-oriented databases (PostgreSQL, DocumentDB or similar).
  • Polyglot proficiency - comfortable operating and guiding others across multiple languages (e.g., Python plus Java or JavaScript) as platform needs require.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with people-management responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with agentic pipeline design (orchestrator/agent patterns) for migration, automation, or data workflows.
  • Experience with event streaming (Kafka/MSK) and data mesh or ETL architectures.
  • Formal people-management experience (performance reviews, hiring, career development).
  • Agile/Scrum leadership experience (Scrum Master or equivalent responsibilities).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipeline ownership.
  • Exposure to Java/Spring Boot for cross-team collaboration on shared platform services.
