Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for an Architecture Engineer to support an Army Aviation Capability Program Executive (CPE). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide technical and engineering support for the MBSE/Architecture Integrated Product Team, including developing and managing meeting agendas, briefings, action items, and meeting minutes. This includes coordination with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

  • Present technical briefings, support trade studies, and provide overall technical and engineering support for all aspects of weapon systems and associated subsystems. This encompasses identifying process gaps, problem analysis, and developing solutions in coordination with team members. Lead technical interchange meetings with OEM and sub-vendors regarding system architecture.

  • Utilize model-based environments for OEM CDRL reviews, encompassing requirements, verification, hazard assessments, system safety, architecture, maintenance analysis, and interface design.

  • Provide comprehensive engineering support for air vehicle development, including Delta SRR/SFR, PDRs, CDRs, FCA, SVR, PCA, FRR, and materiel release activities. This also includes supporting Milestone B and C documentation and decisions. The position also provides support for modeling, simulation, and verification of survivability against various threats.

  • Plan and execute all architecture-related activities, which include documentation reviews, OEM architecture design review, validation, verification, testing, and production. Coordination with FLRAA OEM's to ensure adherence to architecture requirements is critical.

  • Support mission systems engineering throughout the design process, progressing from preliminary to detailed design, architecture validation & verification, and subsequent support for associated subsystems.

  • Ensure the Weapon System architecture meets the requirements of the FAF (presumably a specific framework or standard).

  • Ensure data rights assertions conform to contract requirements for data rights regarding Government Purposed Rights, etc. Mitigate restricted rights protections to ensure MOSA acquisition objectives are adhered.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace systems, MBSE, and/or Systems Engineering.

  • Strong working knowledge of Army Rotorcraft design, maintenance, systems/subsystems, and military airworthiness qualification processes.

  • Demonstrated experience executing systems engineering processes, including system-level reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and technical risk management.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead technical meetings and present complex data to military leadership and OEM contractors.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Prior experience working within or directly supporting DoW CPE Aviation or Aviation defense program.

  • Familiarity with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516) and the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) framework.
