he Salesforce System Analyst/Developer is a key member of the Digital Health Solutions team, responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Salesforce-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions. This role serves as a bridge between operational, clinical, and technical teams to ensure digital solutions support organizational goals, enhance patient experiences, and improve operational efficiency.

The Salesforce System Analyst/Developer partners closely with clinicians, operational leaders and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver scalable applications that support patient engagement, access, intake, scheduling, care coordination, population health initiatives, and service delivery. The role participates throughout the full solution lifecycle, including business analysis, system configuration, custom development, testing, deployment, training, and post-implementation support.

This position leverages the Salesforce platform and related technologies to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, improve data quality, and enable actionable insights through reporting and analytics. The Salesforce System Analyst/Developer evaluates existing processes, identifies opportunities for optimization, and recommends innovative solutions that align with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Working in a highly collaborative healthcare environment, the role contributes to the successful integration of Salesforce with the electronic health record, patient-facing digital tools, and other enterprise systems to create a connected experience for patients, families, providers, and staff. The individual is expected to balance strong technical expertise with business acumen, communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset to deliver solutions that improve patient access, care coordination, and overall healthcare outcomes.

The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in Salesforce administration and development, requirements analysis, solution design, workflow automation, data integration, and stakeholder engagement, with a commitment to continuous improvement and the advancement of digital health capabilities across the organization.

This role performs advanced system configuration changes and maintenance to support the lifecycle of the application. They build custom Apex and Lightning web Components (LWC), integrate systems, and ensure strict data security and regulatory compliance (like HIPAA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform to participate in solution architecture discussions and recommend best practices and out-of-the-box solutions

  • Configure and extend Salesforce Health Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud capabilities

  • Build and maintain custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components and Flows

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions

  • Support APIs between Salesforce and enterprise systems such as Epic, Cerner, Microsoft and other healthcare applications using REST/SOAP APIs

  • Perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize application performance

  • Create technical documentation, deployment plans, and support release management activities

  • Ensure solutions comply with HIPAA, security, and organizational governance standards

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support system upgrades, deployments, and production maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • 4 plus years of Salesforce development experience

  • Strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, SOSL, and Salesforce APIs

  • Experience with API security certification, authentication, OAuth 2.0, OpenID, JSON, Web Token authorization, IP security setup, and endpoint configuration required

  • Strong Data Weave skills for transformation and expression development across JSON, XML, CSV, and related formats

  • Familiarity with GIT, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification required

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Health Cloud or Experience Cloud or Marketing Cloud

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications

  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7)

  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare security requirements

  • Platform Developer II certification

Functional Accountabilities
Strategy Development

  • Demonstrates creativity and analytical thinking in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Planning & Process Development

  • Develops operations documentation and operational strategy for systems.
  • Trains the MarComm Team on new processes, create documentation and usage guides.
  • Creates assessment of campaign results for continuous improvement processes.
  • Streamlines processes and procedures to improve the release of product builds.

Technical design and support

  • Supports Marcomm CRM solutions and related platforms as needed.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge of CRM solutions and keep up to date on new releases and functionality.
  • Ensures data integrity, cleanliness, and consistency across databases.

Campaign Execution and Testing

  • Creates layouts, customer journeys, workflows, and templates to simplify the CRM process.
  • Optimizes campaigns using A/B tests and other methods to deliver best results.

Measurement and Reporting

  • Develops reports on results of marketing campaigns executed via CRM.
  • Develops and manages dashboards based on key performance metrics.

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications. Children's National is committed to providing a fair and competitive total rewards package to each of our employees. This base salary range does not include our comprehensive benefits package or any additional compensation for which this position may be eligible.
