Job summary

The Material Handler I is responsible for the storage, movement, and handling of goods, supplies, and materials under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. This role involves operating forklifts, maintaining inventory records, and moving materials across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and state.
• Operate forklifts with care and awareness of people and the environment.
• Ensure forklifts are properly stored, fueled, cleaned, and ready to operate.
• Perform maintenance on forklifts as needed.
• Follow and update inventory activity, lists, records, and log all completed tasks.
• Move inventory and materials across facilities.
• Stack and organize large bulk items.
• Remove inventory from trucks or shipping and deliver to proper locations.
• Carry inventory for shipping to proper trucks.
• Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations, or other locations.
• Note and request any damaged parts or replacements needed.
• Submit inventory records and logs at the close of the day.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
• Prior certification for forklift operation.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Preferred: Two years of experience working with heavy machinery, forklifts, or related equipment.

Schedule

• Training on first shift for the first two weeks (5:00 AM-3:00 PM).
