Data Librarian, Metadata and Digital Content Operations

In this pivotal role, you will bring structure to complex information, solve critical data-quality problems, and significantly improve the systems and processes that underpin large-scale digital content and international programs. Your expertise will directly ensure that information remains precise, well-organized, and readily usable across all digital publishing and global content initiatives, driving seamless operations and an elevated brand experience.

About the Role

This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of metadata, data operations, content systems, and creative workflows. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and usability of digital assets and product information for a brand celebrated for its sophisticated aesthetic and global reach. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of content delivery and the quality of information presented to customers worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Clean, normalize, map, reconcile, and migrate high-volume product and creative data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Perform imports, exports, audits, comparisons, and exception handling across various content databases.
• Maintain metadata structures, taxonomies, schemas, controlled vocabularies, and tagging standards to enhance content discoverability and organization.
• Manage data effectively within Airtable and other digital content platforms.
• Support translation and localization databases, including product translation records, terminology, and submission workflows for global content initiatives.
• Validate data and publishing outputs through rigorous quality assurance processes.
• Document and continuously improve recurring operational workflows to boost efficiency.
• Identify data and process gaps, then implement repeatable solutions to optimize operations.
• Train colleagues on best practices for workflows and data-management.
• Collaborate closely with creative operations, digital, IT/development, project management, and international partners.

What You'll Bring

• Strong professional experience working with metadata and structured data.
• Advanced Excel skills and proven experience manipulating large datasets.
• Demonstrated experience cleaning, normalizing, mapping, reconciling, or migrating data.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Proficiency with Airtable.
• Hands-on experience with CMS, DAM, PLM, or comparable digital content systems.
• A solid understanding of taxonomies, schemas, controlled vocabularies, and tagging principles.
• A strong data-quality and QA mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and adapt to changing priorities effectively.
• Strong communication and workflow documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• SQL experience, particularly with multi-join queries.
• Experience with Python for data transformations or automation.
• Experience with AEM, Contentful, or similar CMS platforms.
• Airtable administration/build experience.
• Translation/localization or CAT-tool experience.
• A background in digital librarianship or information science.
• An MLIS or related educational background.
