Overview:

SCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will apply robust manual and automated test engineering processes in a lab environment, working closely with internal and external customers as well as the end-user. The System Tester will develop test strategies and detailed test procedures to evaluate the functionality, safety and precision of the weapon control system. Travel may be required to CONUS locations for installation, integration and testing, working closely with other stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:



  • Support the development of testable requirements and project test strategies
  • Develop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verification
  • Conduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Work with developers to troubleshoot issues found during testing and report results through documentation and tickets
  • Participate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Develop test automation tools for new and existing weapon control systems
  • Develop and support GUIs using Python or C#
  • Collaborate with the test team to identify requirements and opportunities for new tools
  • Support test and evaluation of a portfolio of products to gain knowledge of the test process
  • Utilize software development best practices and established program development processes
  • Identify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environment
  • Collaborate across technical teams through regularly scheduled milestone meetings
  • Manage tasking efficiently and meet deliverable timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain knowledge of system capabilities, enhancements, and functionality in advance of system delivery to end-users

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Two (2) years of full time experience testing software intensive DoD weapon systems
  • Able to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution
  • Demonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environment
  • Pass Hypobaric Chamber training
  • Support remote travel events
  • Walk flight line up to ~200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to get the platform
  • Lift up to 80 lbs in awkward angles/positions



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Experience with Python, C#, or C++ and test automation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
