ES is currently seeking a powerhouse Business Systems Analyst II to join our fast-paced Information Systems Team. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that help drive business success. Partnering with stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams, you'll translate business needs into clear requirements that shape platform enhancements and technology initiatives. In this role, you'll analyze business processes, define and refine requirements, and help ensure solutions align with strategic objectives. Your ability to simplify complex concepts, facilitate collaboration, and bridge the gap between business and technical teams will be critical to delivering successful outcomes.

You'll work with a high degree of ownership while collaborating closely with others to support solution design, validate requirements, maintain project documentation, and contribute to Agile delivery practices. You'll also have opportunities to share your expertise, mentor fellow analysts, and help strengthen business analysis best practices across the organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity. ES has offices in Oakland, CA; Orange, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; and Boston, MA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Collaborate with minimal guidancewith internal and external stakeholders tounderstand, clarify, and documentbusiness needs


  • Partner withdomain expertsand engineerstosupport solution designfor moderately complex technical problems


  • Prepare andmaintainwelldocumented functional specifications, workflows,mock-ups,and user stories


  • Maintainand refineepics,user stories, and acceptance criteriato ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment withbusinesspriorities


  • Contributeto backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning activities to support alignment between business priorities and development capacity


  • Analyzecurrent product workflows andevaluateopportunities for improvement based on business needs and system capabilities


  • Coordinateandsupportuser acceptance testing (UAT) activities by developing test cases,facilitatingexecution, andvalidatingrequirements against delivered solutions


  • Trackandanalyzekey metrics and KPIs toevaluatesolution performance andidentifyimprovement opportunities


  • Participatein retrospective discussions andcontributerecommendations to improve team processes and deliveryoutcomes


  • Participate in prototyping and proofofconcept effortstovalidatesolution approaches and workflows


  • Contribute to process improvement initiativesbyidentifyinggapsin requirements, documentation, and delivery practices


  • Support adoption of Agile best practicesby reinforcing consistent standards across teams


  • Assistand guidejunior analysts bysharing knowledge,providingfeedbackand supporting skill development



Minimum Qualifications: (Quantifiable Skills i.e Years of experience)



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related or technical field
  • Fiveyearsof experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a closely related role
  • Experience working within theAgile developmentlifecycle, collaborating withcross functionalteams
  • Experienceconducting and supporting UAT efforts, including coordinating with stakeholders tovalidaterequirements against delivered solutions
  • Strong technical analysis skills with the ability totranslate and documentbusiness needs into clear, actionable technical specifications
  • Strongcommunicationskills, with the ability toconvey and clarifyinformation betweennon-technicalstakeholders and technical teams
  • Proficiencyinwriting and managinguser stories, epics, and acceptance criteria using Jira or similar Agile tools
  • Working knowledge ofSQL or BI toolstoanalyze dataand support requirements validation anddecision-making
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability tomanage multiple prioritiesin a collaborative environment



The salary range for this role is $106,000 - $123,000 with a target compensation of $106,000 - $115,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Office Locations and a Remote Workforce

Energy Solutions operates as a predominantly remote workforce with offices insix different locations. Employees who reside within 40 miles of an office (except New York) will be assigned to that location, though in-office attendance requirements may vary by team.
