Requisition ID req37951 Working Title HS Research Splst Position Grade 11 Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics, Neonatology Division, is seeking a part-time HS Research Specialist to support a large, multi-site longitudinal research study focused on health and development beginning during pregnancy and continuing throughout childhood. The position will support ongoing and future study visits involving pregnant participants, children, and families and will work closely with investigators, research staff, MRI personnel, laboratory personnel, and other collaborating teams. This individual will independently support and coordinate assigned research activities across multiple study visits, including administration of standardized developmental and behavioral assessments such as the NIH Baby Toolbox (BTB), support of research visits involving MRI and other specialized procedures, participant and family preparation, study documentation, data and quality-control activities, and tracking of required and outstanding visit components. The position will prepare research materials, equipment, supplies, and study spaces; support participants and families throughout complex research visits; and assist with identifying and resolving procedural, documentation, and data-quality concerns in accordance with study protocols and established procedures. Additional responsibilities include participating in the piloting and implementation of future study visits, assessments, and research procedures; testing and providing feedback on study workflows; maintaining required study-specific training, certifications, and demonstrated competencies; and supporting consistent implementation of research protocols and standardized procedures. The position may provide guidance and instruction to research staff in procedures for which appropriate training and competency have been established. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position. Experience organizing, tracking, and reviewing research data using Microsoft Excel and electronic research data or study-management systems is preferred. Applicants should have familiarity with human subjects research requirements, including HIPAA and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles. The position requires completion and maintenance of applicable UNM and study-required training, including CITI human subjects research training and other protocol-, safety-, and procedure-specific training and certifications required for assigned research activities. This position requires a current valid driver's license and the ability to travel to research, clinical, and community locations as needed. Flexibility is also required to support research visits that may occur outside of regular business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
