Group Account Executive - Healthcare Vertical

The Group Account Executive develops and implements comprehensive portfolio strategies across multiple healthcare client accounts. This executive leader anticipates client needs, delivers exceptional performance against key indicators, and builds financial plans that exceed revenue and profitability targets.

The role requires creating high-performing teams that deliver operational excellence, maintaining internal stakeholder alignment, tracking portfolio-wide performance metrics, identifying expansion opportunities, and proactively mitigating risks-all while navigating diverse contract models and the complex regulatory requirements unique to healthcare environments, while retaining ultimate accountability for account health across the portfolio, even where execution is delegated to on-site facility leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

Exceeding Client Expectations Across the Portfolio

  • Create and execute comprehensive account plans for each client, aligning objectives across different contract structures and driving consistent results
  • Develop deep understanding of each client's healthcare real estate strategy and clinical infrastructure roadmap to position JLL as a strategic partner
  • Navigate and optimize performance across varied contract models including integrated facility management, technical services, project-based engagements, and hybrid arrangements
  • Negotiate and execute contract terms, scope changes, and renewals directly with clients, leveraging internal legal and commercial resources as needed
  • Lead organic growth within assigned accounts, partnering with solutions development teams to expand JLL's scope in response to evolving healthcare facility management needs

Client & Site Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and accountable owner for account health across 2-3 assigned client accounts, with direct management responsibility for the senior facility directors executing at each site
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop senior facility directors at each account-setting priorities, translating portfolio strategy into clear, actionable direction, and holding them accountable for on-site execution
  • Tailor communication style, cadence, and content to each client's organizational culture-e.g., ROI/efficiency framing for private-equity-owned clients, consensus/governance framing for academic institutions, clinical-outcomes framing for health systems
  • Conduct regular business reviews with client executives, distinct from internal reporting, to reinforce strategic alignment and surface emerging needs
  • Own staffing, scheduling, and cross-training decisions for facility director talent across the portfolio, including input into recruiting and hiring, and partner with HR on regular talent reviews and succession planning for critical site leadership roles

Portfolio Performance Management

  • Establish standardized KPIs and benchmarks while accounting for client-specific requirements, Joint Commission standards, and healthcare-specific performance drivers
  • Generate regular performance reports and executive dashboards synthesizing facility operations, cost efficiency, service quality, infection control compliance, and strategic initiatives
  • Compare performance across contract models to identify best practices and inform future commercial structuring

Product and Service Expansion

  • Lead cross-functional teams to pilot, implement, and scale new offerings while ensuring operational readiness within highly regulated settings
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within assigned accounts, leveraging success stories from one account to drive organic growth in others
  • Adapt service offerings to fit various contract structures across acute care, ambulatory, and specialty healthcare environments

Internal Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain alignment with JLL Work Dynamics leadership and corporate functions to ensure portfolio strategy supports organizational goals and healthcare sector growth priorities
  • Coordinate with JLL's engineering, project management, sustainability, technology, finance, and legal teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Foster collaboration across business units to leverage JLL's full capabilities-including clinical environment expertise and healthcare compliance resources

Risk Identification and Mitigation

  • Proactively identify operational, financial, compliance, and reputational risks-including Joint Commission/DNV accreditation risk, infection control breaches, life-safety code compliance, and HIPAA-adjacent facility obligations-and implement mitigation strategies
  • Monitor contract compliance across diverse engagement models, ensuring adherence to terms, SLAs, and performance obligations
  • Implement quality assurance programs-including environment of care rounds, preventive maintenance tracking, and regulatory mock surveys-to maintain consistent delivery

Achieving Financial Results

  • Present comprehensive annual account plans including strategic objectives, client satisfaction results, value-add activities, expansion targets, and financial projections
  • Generate additional revenue through service expansion, scope enhancement, and organic growth opportunities, including capital project management, energy programs, and compliance-driven service upgrades
  • Drive margin improvement through operational efficiencies, standardization, strategic resource deployment, and optimal contract structuring
  • Own revenue growth targets for the assigned portfolio, translating account-level performance trends into concrete expansion actions and increased spend per account

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Facility Management and/or Healthcare Real Estate executive leadership experience with demonstrated multi-client account management; direct healthcare or life sciences facilities experience strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience managing multiple client relationships simultaneously across different contract structures (IFM agreements, technical services, project delivery, managed services, hybrid models) within healthcare or similarly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated management of complex portfolio budgets with proven financial stewardship and revenue growth achievement
  • Experience identifying and implementing new product offerings that drive portfolio expansion, with familiarity in healthcare-specific service lines (sterile environment maintenance, medical gas systems, energy resilience)
  • Ability to manage internal stakeholder relationships across matrixed organizations in complex, mission-driven healthcare environments
  • Proven risk management capabilities including identification and mitigation of operational, financial, regulatory, and life-safety risks across multi-client healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated executive-level communication skills with proven ability to tailor messaging and style across diverse stakeholder types (investor-owned, academic, nonprofit health system), including delivering persuasive presentations on complex operational and financial topics to senior client and internal executives
  • Proven people-leadership experience directly managing senior facility directors across multiple accounts, including performance management, coaching, and development of site-level leaders
  • CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or FMA certification preferred
  • Ability to travel regularly across a multi-state, multi-account portfolio
