Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Electrical Director, CM to join our dedicated team at our office located in Cary, NC.

In this role, you will be responsible for electrical oversight and coordination of multiple Project Teams Day to day execution of electrical work within Regional Operations for the project delivery organization. You will also focus on the support of EPCMV and CM services sales, overseeing the detailed execution of projects by teams from pre-construction to close out, development of staff, and operational performance of the division as an electrical SME.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of electrical project delivery, including planning, estimating, procurement, construction, and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups (Preconstruction, Project Controls, Procurement, Quality, and Safety) to allocate resources and support execution.
  • Manage contracts and subcontracts to mitigate risk and protect company interests.
  • Oversee performance metrics and implement corrective actions to ensure project goals are met.
  • Hire, develop, and train Project Delivery staff, ensuring alignment with utilization targets.
  • Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
  • Partner with leadership across regions and divisions to drive corporate objectives and pursue new opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, systems, and policies.
  • Lead change management and support analysis of work-in-place and resource requirements.
  • Participate in site visits, client meetings, and support the development of project execution strategies.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 15+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate significant experience both in terms of industry knowledge and positions of leadership.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.

Work Environment

  • This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
  • You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible, depending on the assignment.

  • You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather.

Safety

  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
