Job Description

Purpose and Scope
University of Missouri Human Resources provides leadership in the planning, integration, and implementation of human resource services and programs for faculty and staff across all universities and the health care system. Collectively with campus colleagues, we serve as a strategic and trusted advisor, and pursue continuous improvement through knowledge, collaboration, and leadership.

This position is a team member of the UM System HR Service Center, a team of 5 FTE shared-service team members skilled in multiple HR disciplines providing customer service on policies and procedures, supporting self-service issues, and processing administrative responsibilities related to recruiting, benefits, retirement, compensation, training, records management, and payroll, with an emphasis on benefits and retirement.

Responsibilities
* Monitor and respond to HR Service Center email communications and service requests in a timely, professional manner.
* Provide front-desk coverage by greeting and assisting walk-in customers and directing inquiries to the appropriate resource or HR team.
* Assist with phone coverage as needed, provide tier-one support for routine inquiries, and escalate complex matters appropriately.
* Process incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, routing, preparing, and tracking documents as required.
* Prepare and process employment and income verification requests and related correspondence.
* Review and process Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) forms and supporting documentation in accordance with established procedures.
* Assist with administrative processing and document management, including data verification, identification of discrepancies, imaging, and handling confidential personnel records.
* Provide general customer service and problem-solving support related to HR policies, programs, payroll, benefits, retirement, leave, training, records, and other HR services within the position's level of responsibility.
* Maintain accurate service documentation and ticket records to support tracking, follow-up, and resolution of customer inquiries.
* Maintain current knowledge of applicable University of Missouri human resources policies, practices, procedures, and resources.
* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of an HR Specialist II position.

Shift

Flexible 20 hours per week between Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* An associate's degree and three years of human resources office experience demonstrating knowledge of basic employment laws, exceptional customer service, and organizational skills.
* Experience in a call center, service center, administrative office, or equivalent customer-facing environment.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, and independent follow-through.
* Ability to remain professional and customer-focused in stressful or high-volume situations.
* Experience working with confidential information and records.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with university systems or human resources policies.
