Job summary

The Assembler 2 is responsible for assembling electronic and electromechanical components to support the production of advanced electronic and simulation systems. This role involves working with small electronic components, circuit card assemblies, wiring, and other precision assemblies in a clean manufacturing environment. The assembler collaborates with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to clarify build instructions and resolve production issues.

Responsibilities



  • Assemble electronic and electromechanical components using drawings, diagrams, work instructions, and job aids.
  • Perform soldering and electronic assembly work on circuit card assemblies and related components.
  • Depending on workload and experience, tasks may include fine-pitch soldering, circuit card rework and repair, microelectronics assembly, electromechanical assembly, wire and cable harness fabrication and installation, transformer winding and encapsulation.
  • Perform continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies.
  • Operate production equipment including soldering stations, crimping tools, microscopes, and ovens.
  • Inspect completed work for workmanship and compliance with manufacturing documentation.
  • Identify defects and perform rework or repair when required.
  • Accurately document production activity and quality information.
  • Follow all safety, ESD, FOD, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Work closely with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to clarify build instructions and resolve production issues.
  • Successfully complete required internal workmanship training.


Qualifications



  • Minimum 2 years of electronics assembly or related manufacturing experience, OR an Associate degree in Electronics or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on soldering experience.
  • Experience performing manufacturing or assembly work in a production or metric-driven environment.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 10 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications



  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification.
  • Class 2 soldering experience.
  • Circuit board or PCB assembly experience.
  • Fine-pitch soldering and/or circuit card rework experience.
  • Experience performing precision assembly work under a microscope.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Wire harness, cable assembly, or electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to work independently after completing training.


Schedule

This is a 2nd-shift position working 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, including an unpaid 30-minute meal period. The position follows a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off. Schedule may be adjusted based on business needs.

Location

Buffalo, NY. Worksite is 100% onsite.
