For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants. This bonus will be prorated for part-time positions. Please note this bonus is not available for per-diem positions. Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

This role supports a fast-paced, high-volume orthopedic and sports medicine practice. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-service focused, and able to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy in a busy clinical environment. We are looking for someone who is a self-learner, takes initiative, and is willing to ask questions. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize competing demands while remaining calm under pressure.

Our practice is currently experiencing a significant amount of change, including operational improvements, pilot programs, and ongoing space challenges. The successful candidate will need to be resilient, flexible, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining a positive attitude and focus on patient care. Experience with scheduling and electronic medical records is helpful, though a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally important.

The Patient Service Representative is much more than a front desk role; they are the face of our practice and often the first and last interaction a patient has with our team. Many of our patients are injured, in pain, or navigating uncertainty, so it is essential that the PSR serves as a calm, reassuring, and compassionate presence while creating an exceptional patient experience.

Summary: This position consists of 40 hours per week, day shifts.

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) role will greet patients, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and perform other overall general office duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.

The pay range for this position is $19.87to $23.75 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
