Responsibilities
- Procurement
- Responsible for the efficient and timely ordering of all hardware, software and services ordered by the IT department.
- Code all invoices and transactions associated with procured items ensuring accuracy of product, quantities and costs.
- Where applicable, coordinate the installation of services or equipment.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers ensuring we are aware of product roadmap, changes, availability and incentives.
- Where applicable, perform spend analysis to identify opportunities to realign purchasing programs to optimize plans, service and discounts.
- Participate in select vendor relations and roadmap discussion with the Director of Information Technology
- Financial administration
- Prepare and submit appropriate cost allocations to the finance department on the appropriate interval in order to distribute IT costs back to the business areas as appropriate.
- Work with members of the IT leadership team to ensure accuracy of inventory and information used to generate allocation of IT allocations
- Work with the finance department to continually streamline and optimize these processes.
- Update IT Allocation model and corresponding documentation under the guidance of the Director of IT.
- Update and prepare Monthly IT forecast documents to be used by the IT Leadership team.
- Project Administration
- As designated by the Director of IT, assist in the development of scope, schedule and objectives for project that the IT department is involved in. These will include both internal IT driven projects as well as business area sponsored projects.
- Maintain or assist in creating project progress reports and communicate status to key stakholders.
- As appropriate, act as the technical liaison between internal IT resources and external technology resources.
- Business intelligence
- Participate with the IT Manager - Business Intelligence in the collection of scope and requirements definitions for various analytics and visualizations requested to perform process health and confidence analysis.
- Develop and maintain the dashboards and visualizations used by the IT department to monitor and audit our internal processes.
- Develop other visualizations as assigned.
- Office Productivity Suite
- Maintain a current understanding of capabilities, and pending enhancements being made by Microsoft to the Office 365 suite of products. Identify what you believe to be core functionality or enhancements that will benefit the organization and present those to the Director of IT for consideration.
- Develop and maintain the Internal and External IT SharePoint and collaboration sites. Evaluate and test new or existing tools, modules or functionally as they are released. Work with the Director of IT to determine what might be of value to incorporate in our IT sites for testing and further consideration.
- Mobile Productivity
- Participate with the various process areas within IT on initiatives to select, implement and deploy mobile hardware, software or processes to enhance the user experience and address process gaps or inefficiencies.
- Maintain awareness of trends in mobile technology for the Construction, Materials and Equipment. Look for opportunities to bring new ideas or increased awareness to the IT Leadership Team.
- User Support
- As designated, provide level 1 user support in the areas of:
- User account, password and security management.
- Device preparation and deployment.
- Education and troubleshooting for initiative roll outs.
- Effective application use.
- General Responsibilities

- Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of features, functionality and performance of existing and emerging technologies through independent research and by utilizing available vendor resources as appropriate.
- Meet agreed upon commitments regarding responsibilities as assigned.
- Actively participate in and contribute to assigned projects, key results and initiatives.
- Maintain an awareness and appreciation regarding the business and the industry being served to ensure technology is deployed and maintained in a manner that supports the business needs.
- Through periodic visits to work locations throughout the Allan Myers footprint, as well as through ongoing discussions with the user community, assess the quality of and user satisfaction with the systems and services provided by IT
- Performs related business duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- A strong understanding of business process interrelationship and experience gathering and mapping requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical professionals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills. Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously without direct oversight.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Experience with or fundamental knowledge of:
- Network communication
- Database structure and data relationship
- Business Intelligence tools and building visualizations
- Cloud applications and cloud architecture
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud products
- Mobile device, mobile application deployment and administration
- Experience with and knowledge of the following is a plus:
- Construction Financial and Cost Accounting
- Materials or Product sales and delivery
- Equipment and Fleet Management
- Estimating and Project Management
- Enterprise applications and reporting systems.
