Job Summary:

The Associate, BDO Capital Advisors supports tax equity, tax credit transfer, and other project finance transactions across renewable energy, infrastructure, housing, community development, and historic preservation. This role supports transaction execution by performing financial and business due diligence, reviewing and analyzing data room materials, summarizing key findings, and assisting with client deliverables. The Associate coordinates with internal engagement teams and external advisors to help advance deals through diligence and closing. This position contributes to business development efforts through market research, pipeline tracking, proposal support, and participation in networking activities.

Job Duties:

  • Supports the execution and the origination of tax credit transfer, tax equity, and similar project finance advisory engagements through workstreams and deliverable development
  • Performs financial, tax, and business due diligence support, including data request tracking, data room review, and issue identification
  • Analyzes client financial and operating information to identify historical and projected trends, working capital considerations, potential liabilities, and transaction risks
  • Builds and refines transaction analyses and supporting schedules, including sensitivity analyses and key assumption documentation
  • Drafts sections of diligence reports, presentations, client-ready materials and key findings
  • Coordinates with external legal, tax, and advisory professionals to support deal execution milestones and information flow
  • Reviews transaction documents and summarizes key terms, open items, and negotiation considerations for internal and client stakeholders
  • Maintains engagement workplans, deliverable trackers, and internal status updates to support timely execution
  • Supports business development efforts by completing market research, maintaining CRM/pipeline inputs, assisting with proposals, and preparing marketing materials
  • Participates in networking and industry events to support relationship development and market visibility
  • Provides guidance to junior team members on workpaper quality, analytical approaches, and deliverable formatting
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Coaches and reviews work performed by analysts, providing timely feedback and technical guidance

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, required
  • Master of Business Administration, preferred

Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in tax equity, tax credit transfer, project finance, or a similar capital advisory role, required

License/Certifications:

  • FINRA Series 7/79 and 63 licenses, or in active pursuance of licensure (if not currently held, will be required shortly after hire), required

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required

Languages:

  • N/A

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to travel, as necessary

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $125,000 - $175,000
Maryland Range: $125,000 - $175,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $125,000 - $175,000
