The successful candidate must:
The successful candidate will join a team of clinical hematopathologists who provide medical leadership for UCSF's Hematology Laboratories across several campuses (including Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mount Zion, Stanyan Hospital, Hyde Hospital, Berkeley Outpatient Center, Peninsula Outpatient Center, and others in development). The candidate will be responsible for the medical oversight and daily clinical operations of the hematology laboratories and will provide medical interpretation of peripheral blood smears, body fluid specimens, coagulation and specialty hematology testing through a centralized wet hematology sign-out service. An integral part of the position is working as an educator for medical students, residents, and fellows participating in the wet hematology service. The successful candidate will also participate in the Hematopathology signout service which performs approximately 4,700 bone marrow biopsy, tissue, and consults interpretations annually, providing exposure to a broad spectrum of hematologic disorders in a highly collaborative academic environment. The total compensation for this position ranges from $154,700-$398,980, with the potential for additional incentive pay up to $15,000. Total compensation at the University of California, San Francisco includes your base salary, which is determined by your rank and step at appointment, and negotiated pay for Health Sciences Compensation Plan members.
