Job Description

This position is filled by a Duck Creek Configurator with a mastery level of experience and with project coordination or team leader experience. The incumbent is considered an internal expert in the application of Duck Creek configuration concepts and technical knowledge to solve very complex business and system challenges and is considered to possess skills that are key to the organization. The incumbent must have leadership skills to assume a formal supervisory role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assumes responsibility for difficult Duck Creek configuration and implementation tasks by taking a leadership role.
  • Performs independent configuration and solution design for complex business requirements according to technical specifications and standard system implementation techniques.
  • Leads a small technical team or project.
  • Reads and interprets business and technical documents.
  • Possesses knowledge of advanced Duck Creek configuration principles, insurance product setup, business rules, forms, workflows, and system implementation techniques.
  • Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures the highest level of application and platform availability.
  • Evaluates existing configurations and provides technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing configurations and processes; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these solutions.
  • Proposes and creates configuration designs, specifications, diagrams, and process models to provide direction to development and implementation teams.
  • Prioritizes and executes tasks in a high-pressure environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent work experience in the business or technical world.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience. Similar insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of business insurance marketing, underwriting, policy administration, accounting, billing, claims, and/or administration processes and procedures.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Duck Creek applications or comparable insurance policy administration systems preferred.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • The position is physically comfortable; essentially a normal office environment with acceptable lighting and temperature; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
  • A person in this position exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Configuration and implementation tasks assigned to the incumbent are extremely complex assignments where initiative and independent judgment are mandatory to determine the appropriate course of action within the context of broad goals and long-term objectives.
  • The incumbent develops methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and must manage multiple relationships with the business while protecting the integrity, reliability, and maintainability of Duck Creek applications and configurations.
  • The incumbent is tasked with making decisions that positively influence system availability, platform stability, and the timely recovery of business-critical insurance systems from outages.
  • The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in Duck Creek configuration and provides leadership and guidance on complex insurance product implementations and enhancements.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

  • Omaha, NE; Albany, NY and League City, TX Pay Ranges: $159,936 - $201,552.
