This is a part-time, temporary position not eligible for benefits.

While this part-time, temporary position is not eligible for employee benefits, participants in the President's Ambassador Program gain valuable professional and leadership experience. Participants receive hourly pay, opportunities to strengthen public speaking and interpersonal communication skills, networking opportunities with faculty, staff, administrators, and community leaders, experience mentoring and inspiring fellow students, greater knowledge of PVCC programs, services, and resources, and an exclusive President's Ambassador polo shirt.

Work Schedule

This part-time position is scheduled to work up to 19 hours per week. Typical work hours include daytime shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on two days per week, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Work schedules may vary based on departmental needs.

Job Summary

The President's Ambassador Program develops student leaders who represent the Office of the President and serve as ambassadors for Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC). President's Ambassadors promote the College, support presidential initiatives, and help strengthen connections between PVCC and the community while developing valuable leadership and professional skills. Responsibilities include representing the College at campus and community events, leading campus tours, providing administrative and event support to the Office of the President, participating in outreach activities, and assisting with student recruitment and special events.

President's Ambassadors represent the Office of the President and Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC), support presidential initiatives, strengthen connections between the College and the community, and develop valuable leadership and professional skills through service and campus involvement.

Essential Functions
  • Represent the Office of the President and Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) at campus and community events.
  • Lead campus tours for prospective students, community members, and visitors.
  • Provide administrative and event support to the Office of the President.
  • Participate in speaking engagements and outreach activities.
  • Assist with student recruitment and special events.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen community engagement and student success.
  • Attend assigned meetings, training sessions, and events.
  • Commit approximately 15 hours per week to assigned duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours in a certificate or degree program.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Have completed at least one semester (or 6 credit hours) before the program begins.
  • Commit to serving for two consecutive semesters.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated involvement outside the classroom through student clubs or organizations, volunteer service, student leadership, research, internships, or a faculty or staff recommendation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) and its mission.
  • Creativity.
  • Demonstrates leadership beyond the classroom.
  • Enjoys helping others achieve their goals.
  • Seeks to develop professional and leadership skills while serving the College and community.
