The Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers University-Newark is seeking a calendar-year Post-Doctoral Associate in the Sahoo Laboratory to begin in December 2026. The Post-Doctoral Associate will work under the supervision of Dr. Pabitra Sahoo and perform molecular/cellular studies of neuronal development using in vivo (mouse models) and in vitro (cultured primary neurons) models, involving skilled surgical procedures on mice and rats with a dissecting microscope under sterile conditions and in utero electroporation. The individual will perform studies to analyze cellular and molecular signaling using in vitro and animal models of human disease, particularly neurodevelopmental disorders, including data analysis, image processing, literature research, and composition. They will handle transgenic mouse models, maintain colonies, perform genotyping, and record keeping and assist with research design and implementation by performing molecular/cellular studies for axonal
RNA transport and translation, and cell signaling. The Post-Doctoral Associate will prepare progress reports, contribute to scholarly works for presentation and publication., present data and research progress at group meetings and other venues that encourage collaboration, develop new ideas for current and future research projects that will precipitate independent research grant applications and new research funding, and oversee the work of graduate and undergraduate research assistants. Other research and lab duties may be assigned to help enhance the productivity of Dr. Sahoo's lab and the postdoctoral experience. |
