Turbine Kinetics Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Production Inspector to inspect aerospace components throughout the production process. This position ensures that products conform to engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards. The Quality Production Inspector will perform in-process and final inspections, document inspection results, identify nonconforming products, and work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to maintain the highest standards of product quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and other technical documents to understand inspection and product requirements.
- Perform inspections on aerospace products as described in approved written work instructions.
- Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections of components and assemblies.
- Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and functional inspections on a wide variety of aerospace products.
- Use standard inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, plug gages, pin gages, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special setups, new or unique equipment, and the interpretation of test data from multiple sources.
- Verify product conformity to applicable dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, workmanship standards, and acceptance criteria.
- Confirm that inspection equipment is properly calibrated and suitable for the required inspection.
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain complete inspection documentation and quality records.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials or products in accordance with company procedures.
- Segregate or place nonconforming products on hold and communicate inspection findings to Quality, Production, Engineering, and other appropriate departments.
- Maintain product, lot, and serial-number traceability throughout the inspection process.
- Follow all company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable aerospace standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work area.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or quality-inspection training preferred.
- Two or more years of quality-inspection experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or another regulated industry preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and written work instructions.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, plug gages, pin gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to perform complex inspection setups and interpret technical test data.
- Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, First Article Inspection, and aerospace quality requirements preferred.
- Advanced computer skills a must.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and recordkeeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to use inspection tools and handle aerospace components safely.
- Ability to visually inspect small features and identify product defects.
- Ability to lift and move materials or components weighing up to 30 pounds, with assistance when necessary.
- Ability to work in office, inspection, warehouse, and production-floor environments.
