ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Coordinate all programs and services within the Nutrition Program which includes writing grants, ensuring all reports are submitted to the state on a timely basis, and program participants are properly enrolled and recorded in the consumer database.
  • Accurately process referrals for meal services including conducting Nutrition assessments.
  • Implements Federal, State, and local policies and procedures for the Nutrition program.
  • Develops and recommends nutrition program policies and procedures to the Supervisor
  • Communicates regularly with Supervisor regarding unit issues/concerns.
  • Assists Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day nutrition operations, including guidance and leadership to meal site managers; training, coordinating work assignments, scheduling, monitoring performance, approving time-off, and payroll entry.
  • Assists in orientation and training functions. Also assists in identifying ongoing training needs for all staff and provides feedback to supervisor.
  • Works in close conjunction with meal site managers for daily operation workflow; communicates with the Supervisor to problem solve for quality control and program concerns.
  • Coordinate services and scheduling of Nutrition Program staff including site managers and volunteers.
  • Use computerized database and spreadsheet programs to accurately complete monthly reports.
  • Ensure that supplies are inventoried and ordered on a monthly or as needed basis.
  • Oversee meal delivery schedules and fill in as needed.
  • Ensure that dining sites and volunteer drivers have supplies available for day-to-day operations.
  • Operate dining sites by filling in for absent Dining Site Managers.
  • Ensure and Maintain food safety standards according to local, state and federal codes.
  • Coordinate health/wellness and nutrition education or recreation programs/activities for the dining sites as well as for home delivered meal participants.
  • Assist with the development of meeting agendas for Program staff and Committees.
  • Assist with recruitment and training of Nutrition Program staff and volunteers.
  • Attend meetings/training as required.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.


REQUIRED JOB COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of programs and services available to older adults from the ADRC and other agencies.

  • Must obtain WI Food Certification within 90 days of hire.


PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands and fingers to handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Work has standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
  • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities.
  • Work is generally in a moderately noisy office setting although may have limited work outdoors.

Qualifications
Education
High School (required)
Experience
Work experience in nutrition or working with special population groups. (preferred)
Associate's degree. (preferred)
4 years: High School Diploma/equivalent and four (4) years' previous administrative experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. (required)
Must successfully pass caregiver and criminal background check. (required)
