Summary Job Description: Surgical Services Assistant (Operating Room) 40 Hours Weekly, Full Time, First Shift (Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm) Join our Operating Room team and help provide safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience. What You'll Do
Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures. Assist with patient transport, transfers, and positioning. Support surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists during procedures. Assist with room turnover, stocking supplies, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and equipment safety standards.
HANA Table Experience with the HANA Surgical Table is highly preferred. This role supports orthopedic procedures by:
Setting up and operating the HANA table and accessories. Assisting with safe patient positioning and transfers. Monitoring patient safety during table movement and positioning. Cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining HANA equipment. Supporting surgeons and the perioperative team during orthopedic procedures. Participating in HANA table call coverage.
What We're Looking For
Strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent organization and ability to multitask. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Flexible availability, including on-call responsibilities. Knowledge of orthopedic patient positioning preferred. Prior Operating Room Experience is strongly preferred. BCLS Required within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull. Assist with patient transfers, movement, and positioning. Safely maneuver specialized surgical equipment, including the HANA table. Possess the strength, stamina, manual dexterity, and visual acuity needed to work safely in a busy operating room environment.
